Beauty: New in!

I’ve been shoooppiinngg!

Above are new products I’ve been trying out. Some are worthy of becoming staples and others… not so much.

In my last beauty post here, I talked about my Lancome foundation that I love. But now that spring/summer is coming around, I needed to switch to a lighter foundation so I picked up the NARS all day luminous weightless foundation.  This foundation has been awesome so far. It truly lasts all day and it’s a lot easier to apply and blend in than the Lancome. It does give you a glow so I find that I do not need to use my studio fix plus fluid afterwards.

I suffer from extremely oily skin so I am always looking for the next best thing to control my shine. I picked up Caudalie Vinosource moisturizing matifying fluid which was recommended by the sephora staff. Let me just say that this moisturizer definitely does matify your face. But I do not think it works well with the primer I’m using so I do not think I am benefitting from its matifying effects. I tried wearing my foundation without the primer and with just the moisturizer, which does help but does not keep me oil free for more than a few hours. After like 2 hours, I need to blot again. So no, I won’t be buying this again. It’s good but not good enough.

The Urban decay de-slick oil-control makeup setting spray is a weightless setting spray that helps control oil and it works! The only thing is that it’s advertised as not being sticky or tight on your skin but I actually found that it still felt sticky a few times. Other than that, it definitely works to not only keep your make-up in place but also to keep your face looking shine free.

Sacha Butter cup powder is a life saver. I’ve been hearing great things about it for a very long time now and I am definitely late to jump on the bandwagon. I was using banana powder previously and I wanted to wait until I was all out of it before purchasing something new. I love it. It blends in well on every application unlike the banana powder that would sometimes look patchy if I put it on too soon or accidentally put on too much. This powder is definitely a new staple.

I’ve been using the same routine to do my brows for quite a while. I picked up Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer to try something new. I think it’s an awesome product and I was able to get some great brows with it. However, it’s a bit on the pricey side and there isn’t much product in the tube. I’ve had it for a few weeks and I’m almost out! I really do like it but I’m not sure if I am interested in paying that much for it again.

Lastly, I’ve been really into Koko Lashes this past year. “Goddess” is my favorite. They are a bit long so I have to cut and resize them. I get multiple wears and they give me a full lash glamour look. Some other lashes I like from koko lashes include diva & queen B.
